Shepherd Stadium had to be our home from the beginning. The history and love of baseball in the community is unmatched, and the City of Colonial Heights is professional and driven to see businesses succeed.
Shepherd Stadium was built in 1948 and dedicated three years later in honor of former Colonial Heights Mayor Fred Shepherd. Located at the corner of Roanoke and Meridian Avenues, the stadium has been the home of American Legion Post 284 since 1960.
In 2018, the City of Colonial Heights completed a five-year conservation project on Shepherd Stadium which included upgrades to the dugouts and the installation of a new scoreboard, public address system and seating. Brick façade and ornamental fencing was added to the grandstand area as well. The project cost roughly a half million dollars.
